After I was diagnosed as having a prolapsed disc in my lower spine and having suffered the symptoms of sciatica, it was suggested to me that I would benefit from doing Pilates exercises. Emma was recommended to me by an established Physiotherapy clinic in Lymm and I have been attending on a one-to-one basis for over a year. The studio is well equipped and Emma tailors the session to suit my needs on the day, taking care to check that I don't have any aches or pains which could be aggravated by certain exercises, and then selecting exercises of appropriate ease or difficulty to achieve maximum benefit. Emma explains well what is required from each exercise and applies a fine attention to detail, ensuring correct alignment, posture and breathing. I have had almost no symptoms of sciatica since I have been attending Emma's Pilates studio and I would not hesitate to recommend her as a Pilates instructor."

"I came to see Emma after a spinal procedure, this was upon recommendation from the Consultant that Pilates, on a one to one basis, was the progression for me."
"I am delighted with the expertise and service that Emma has provided. Her knowledge of Pilates and physiology is first rate. Combining a professional approach and equipment for Pilates (it's not just a mat..) makes this an exceptional value for money service and has been invaluable towards my recovery"
Jeremy Holmes, age 47

About The Lymm Pilates Studio
Emma worked as a senior nurse in one of London's busiest A&E departments before becoming an international air ambulance nurse for 10 years.
Following a serious back injury in 2000 Emma began to practice Pilates in order to prevent Spinal surgery. After practising Pilates weekly for several months she became pain free, had improved posture, flexibility, overall strength and surgery was not required.
Emma trained in London and is a member of the Pilates Foundation UK.
The Lymm Pilates Studio
Pilates is a form of exercise which was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's.
It aims to strengthen the body in an even balanced way, with particular emphasis on core strength which helps to restore correct alignment.
Regular Pilates can improve posture, muscle tone, balance and joint mobility whilst relieve stress and tension.
Pilates can be taught both in mat based classes or on specialist equipment known as the Cadillac, Reformer & Wunda chair. The apparatus can provide resistance or support as required depending on individuals needs; support for beginners or those recovering from any physical complaints/injuries and resistance will allow challenge as required.
